WinXP: Internet browsing doesn’t work on any browser!

Windows XP sometimes experiences problems, when applications do not uninstall properly, in install improperly. This results in internet browsing to stop working, and chances are your TCP IP stack or Winsock registry entries are corrupt.
Use these tools to fix them up and make sure you reboot straight after!

Internet Explorer – Repair Browsing problems

I have found the following solutions fix internet browsing issues, when using Internet Explorer.
Reset IE7 / IE8 – http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/06/12/628499.aspx
Add “c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” to the Firewall Exceptions Rule
The following commands need Command Prompt with Administrative privaledges:
ipconfig /flushdnsnetsh winsock reset catalognetsh int ip reset reset.log
Disable any addon’s you don’t need.Disable any toolbars, that you don’t need.

So Internet Explorer 8 isn’t working probably. It’s probably your fault, but that’s ok, we should be able to get things sorted.

Repair Internet Explorer by Re-registering it’s DLL files in Windows XP. Just create a batch file and execute!

Go to C:\windows\inf\
Right Click on ie.inf and select INSTALL
You will need to find the i386 folder, or the iexplore.* files to continue.
This will replace the Iexplore files and fix the browser.
